Is Jesus the Son of God?

Without a doubt, Jesus is the Son of God! The Bible makes that point clear and here are seven verses, and witnesses, that proclaim it:

  • God the Father:
“For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’” (2 Peter 1:17).
  • Peter, Jesus’ disciple, as quoted by John:
“Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!” (John 6:69)
  • The Apostle Paul, to whom Jesus appeared after ascending to Heaven:
“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).
  • A Roman guard that witnessed Jesus’ crucifixion:
“So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, ‘Truly this was the Son of God!’” (Matthew 27:54)
  • Demons (fallen angels):
“And suddenly they cried out, saying, ‘What have we to do with you, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the time?’” (Matthew 8:29)
  • An early believer, the Ethiopian Eunuch:
“Then Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he answered and said, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God’” (Acts 8:37).
  • Believers today:
“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God” (1 John 4:15).

Therefore, there is no doubt that the Baby born in a manger (Luke 2) so long ago is Jesus, the Son of God. The One Who would give His life so that whoever believes in His name could receive the gift of salvation. (See John 3:16.)
