What is the “End Times”?

The “End Times” is a series of events associated with the end of the world as we know it, according to the prophesies in the Bible. These “End Times,” or “Last Days” as termed in Scripture, focus on, and lead up to, the physical return of Jesus to Earth.

There are three basic elements, or events, of the end times: the Church age, the Rapture, and the seven years of tribulation. Right now, we are in the Church age which began with the ascension of Jesus and the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. (See Acts 2.) We have been in the Church age for approximately 2,000 years.

The second End Times event is the Rapture of the Church. Jesus will call all those who have trusted in Him for salvation, both those living on Earth and those who have died, to meet Him in the air. (See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.)

This event will then initiate the seven years of tribulation. At the end of those seven years, the Lord Jesus will come and set foot once again on Earth to rule and reign, and Christians will come with Him. He will make all things new, and after the judgment, Christians will spend eternity with God.

It is imperative that those who are saved tell as many as possible about God’s saving grace. The end of all things is at hand; at any moment, Jesus could call His people home!
