How do I overcome stress, anxiety, and fear?

Stress and anxiety often result when there is a significant gap between the demands placed upon us and our ability to meet those demands. If you’re feeling stressed or experiencing anxiety and finding it hard to overcome, please know that you’re not alone.

A verifiable 89% of all Americans from time to time suffer from chronic stress syndrome. 75-90% of all visits to primary care physicians are due to stress-related disorders and illnesses. We are emotionally fatigued, physically drained, and spiritually defeated due to stress. Stress not only steals your enjoyment of life but also makes you more vulnerable to spiritual attacks. When you're stressed, smaller irritations can seem like impossible mountains to climb.

When you are stressed, take a few minutes to pause, be still, and be quiet. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and then pray and ask God to lead and guide you. God has promised, “...I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrew 13:5). Try to memorize Hebrews 13:5 and Psalm 145:18, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.” There is nothing in your life that your Shepherd cannot handle.
