He calls men to the Savior and brings them to new life (they are "born again") from a previous state of separation from God and from the hopelessness of the decay of death. He baptizes every person who believes in Jesus as Savior and worships Jesus as Lord into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts used by Christians to serve God through His Church. He seals the believer—His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ and will keep the believer eternally.
