The Witness In HimselfOctober 6, 2016 Save Article
First John 5:10 says, “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son.”
The Holy Spirit of God spoke to me, and now I believe in Jesus. The Witness that was witnessing to me is now witnessing in me. The Holy Spirit of God lives in me right now and enables me to believe.
Did you know that because I have the witness in myself, I am not at the mercy of some pagan or infidel with an argument? You can argue with me about hypocrites, contradictions in the Bible, or anything else that you want. But you are not going to stampede me because I have the witness in myself.
Now suppose I just had a big piece of apple pie and somebody comes along and says there is no such thing as apple pie. Or somebody else says, “If there is, it doesn’t taste good or satisfy my sweet tooth.” Is that going to shake me? Absolutely not! Do you know why? I have the witness of that apple pie in myself!
Psalm 34:8 says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.” An effective witness is somebody who has an experience with God. A lawyer argues a case; a witness tells what he has seen and heard.
