Rescue The Perishing

"

A woman had taken a course in First Aid. When she went back to her study group, they were having testimonials, so she shared what happened to her:

Out in front of my very own home, there was a horrible accident. An elderly man was driving and lost control, went over the curb and hit an oak tree head-on. He was thrown out of the car and onto the ground. It was horrible. But I was the first one on the scene. I remembered my First Aid training—that if I put my head between my knees I wouldn’t faint.

That’s the way the church is today. In a world of sorrow, pain, anguish, and trouble, the church is going around with its head between its knees and singing, “I’m so glad I am a Christian. It makes me feel so good, so wonderful in this day and in this age.”

Friend, God has anointed and empowered us to be lead people to His Son so they may hear salvation’s story. In the words of Fanny Crosby, we are to:

Rescue the perishing, care for the dying, Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave; Weep o’er the erring one, lift up the fallen, Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
