How to Accomplish God’s Will

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”

Romans 10:14-15

Ponder This

Faith is not man’s way of getting the will of man done on Earth; faith is God’s way of getting God’s will done in Heaven. So many of us think that faith is something that we can use for ourselves. Romans 10:12 says, “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.” God’s will is for you to be saved.

The preacher doesn’t originate his own message. No, I am to be a messenger boy with beautiful feet, running with glad tidings. I have been sent where God says, “Go tell them this.”

We have workers at our church who buy things for the church, like cleaning supplies, paper goods, snacks, and so on. We don’t just say, “Go buy whatever you think you want or whatever you think we need.” There is a requisition, a purchase order, something that is given so that they come back with the right stuff. The objective of someone who goes to the supply store with a purchase order is to get what the leader says is needed. Faith is God’s way of getting the things He wants to be done through us. Have we asked Him what He wants for you or have you assumed you know His plan?

  • Is God calling you to share the Good News about Him with someone?
  • When have you taken matters into your own hands instead of seeking direction from God?

Practice This

Pray and seek God to find out who He would have you encourage or share your faith with today.
