- INTRODUCTION
- The prophet Isaiah wrote about the crucifixion of Jesus 700 years before Jesus came to this earth as our substitute.
- Earth’s greatest tragedy and God’s greatest triumph was Calvary.
- Why did Jesus have to die? Why the cross? What was the purpose of His passion?
- THE SUBSTITUTIONARY PURPOSE OF THE CROSS (1 Peter 3:18)
- Jesus, the Just One, took the place of us, the unjust.
- Jesus Christ was not a martyr or a helpless victim. Jesus died as our substitute.
