Acts 10:34-44 (Program: 4015, Air date: 10.04.2015)
- INTRODUCTION
- What would you say if someone were to invite you over to his or her house to explain why you believe what you believe?
- That is the story of Cornelius.
- Cornelius was a pagan, Roman army officer.
- An angel appeared to Cornelius telling him to send for Simon Peter, who could tell Cornelius and his household how to be saved.
- Cornelius obeyed and sent for Simon Peter, who was living in Joppa at the house of Simon the tanner.
- Simon Peter was a Jew, and Cornelius was a Gentile. In that day, Jews and Gentiles did not have dealings with each other. So, the Lord spoke to Simon Peter through a vision to convince him to go to Cornelius.
- Simon Peter obeyed the Lord and went to Cornelius’ house and shared with him why he should believe in Jesus Christ.
- Simon Peter gave three lines of evidence, three witnesses; and we use these same three witnesses when we share Jesus today.
- Acts 10:34-44
- THE PERSONAL WITNESS OF THE SAINTS (Acts 10:39)
- The apostles were a diverse group, yet they were united in their witness. Among them:
- John was young, observant and sensitive.

- Simon the Zealot was a political activist.
- Nathaniel and Thomas both tended to be skeptical and inquiring.
- Matthew was a hardened, political businessman.
- Andrew was gentle and compassionate.

- What we have not seen with our physical eyes, we have seen through the eye of faith.
- Jesus has called us to be His witnesses, not His lawyers.
