Why was America founded on Christian values?

Not all of our forefathers were Christians. However, they all agreed that the principles given to us in the Bible were worthy to live by and to create a government around. Much of Christian values match up with biblical values, and most of our founders did claim to be Christians, which is why the assumption is there that it was founded on Christian values. Yet, when you look closely at the Bible, we can see that our original government structure was formed from the Bible. Some of our freedoms and thought processes were taken from the Bible: Human equality (Genesis 1:27), freedom (Romans 14:12), and the rule of law and justice (Exodus 20:1-17, Romans 13:1-2, Micah 6:8). These are just a few things that align with both Christian and biblical values, as well as with the American values formed by our forefathers. The beauty of these values, like justice, liberty, and moral accountability, is that whether you are a Christian or not, these values still offer the best way for Americans to live in peace with each other and for the country to pursue peace with other nations around the world.
