How does God’s grace set me free from sin?

Through grace, you’re no longer under condemnation. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

  • Grace justifies you (forgives your past).

Through Christ’s sacrifice, your sins are fully pardoned, and you are declared righteous before God. Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  • Grace sanctifies you (empowers your present).

God’s Spirit works within you, giving you the strength to live a holy life day by day. Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”

  • Grace liberates you (frees you from sin’s control).

You are no longer a slave to old habits or sinful desires, but free to walk in obedience and joy. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”

  • Grace doesn’t excuse sin—it defeats it.

Rather than giving permission to sin, God’s grace destroys its power and leads you into victory.1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

As Adrian Rogers powerfully taught, “God’s grace doesn’t make sin safe—it makes the sinner saved.”
