Points to Ponder

The Primacy of the Cross and The Urgency of the Gospel

The greatest event in human history is celebrated not in December but in the spring—on Sunday, April 17, this particular year. It is the day when another tree was discarded, a stone was rolled away, and the hope we anticipated in the winter became an eternal reality. That’s why at Love Worth Finding we keep the cross front and center in our thinking, our planning, and our production of broadcast programs, books, Bible studies, and other print and digital resources that carry the truth of the Gospel around the globe.

Love Worth Finding Receives NRB’s Billy Graham Award

The National Religious Broadcasters have awarded Love Worth Finding with Adrian Rogers the 2022 Billy Graham Award for Excellence in Christian Communications.

The award is presented each year to a Christian organization that “effectively and creatively uses multiple electronic media technologies in fulfillment of its mission, while maintaining fidelity to the message of love, redemption, and hope found in the Holy Scriptures.”

Pastor Adrian Rogers, a pioneer in Christian broadcasting, was unfailingly faithful to the biblical message of the Gospel throughout more than a half-century of preaching and teaching. His messages are now broadcast literally around the world through radio, television, and digital channels.

Faith is the Heart's Response to God's Character

Each time we begin broadcasting a collection of sermons, Love Worth Finding aligns its online content and key featured resources around those sermons to explore a specific truth about the Christian faith. During the months of March and April, 2022, we are exploring the truth, Faith is the Heart’s Response to God’s Character.

Faith does not ignore the intellect, but neither does it arrive through knowledge alone. Faith is a response to an attraction of the heart—the core of man—to the character of God. Those who do not arrive at saving faith ultimately reject God’s character—His sacrificial love, His grace, His holiness, His sovereignty, and His supremacy—in favor of their own self-sufficiency.

Those whose hearts respond to God’s character develop faith that God uses to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. The ordinary person, the ordinary day, the ordinary duty, surrendered to God in faith, is extraordinarily and eternally significant. During this truism period, Love Worth Finding will examine the faith of a collection of individuals included in the Champions of Faith sermon series from Pastor Adrian Rogers. These are some of the “Heroes of the Faith” from Hebrews Chapter 11.

Thanks for the Encouragement

Karl and Kay Wilson, who have chosen pseudonyms so the glory of their lives will be God's alone, met the Lord and each other through Adrian Rogers and Love Worth Finding.

Theirs is a story of late-blooming love, long-time service, and what promises to be a lasting legacy.

“God saved me watching Dr. Rogers on TV,” Kay says, “It was in the early 70s and I was living in East Memphis. I couldn’t wait to drive over to Bellevue Baptist Church (then in Midtown Memphis). Kay, a single gal in her 40s, became a part of the church’s robust fellowship and began singing in the choir.

Meanwhile, Karl, also a never-married single, took a job transfer from Jackson, Mississippi, to Memphis in 1977. The Wilsons met in Sunday school class and became great friends. Just friends...for the better part of two decades.

“I didn’t think Karl would ever marry,” Kay says. “Though I had prayed specifically, ‘Lord, send someone to Karl if that’s Your will...and send someone to me.’”...

The Only Way to Live

The Book of Hebrews describes the heroes of our faith and explains how those heroes exemplified the only way to live. Hebrews 10:38 says, “Now the just shall
live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Adrian Rogers says, “Many of us are plagued with worry, guilt, or loneliness; but there is not one problem that faith does not have an answer for. Faith is not blind superstition, positive thinking, or a feeling of optimism. Rather, it is confidence that rests in hope, conviction that sees the invisible, and communication that comes from Heaven.”

Hebrews 11:1-2 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
