Holding the Name of Jesus High

Kelly Johnson is thirty-four years old, a mother of three small children, and married to a man who fights every day for the name of Jesus in the public square.

Recently, she told Love Worth Finding, she watched her husband stand before fifteen federal judges to argue a single, sobering question: could Jesus still be mentioned in invocations at school board meetings, city council meetings, county council meetings?

The weight of it all was real. So was the spiritual warfare that surrounds work like his, the daily pressure, the unseen battles, the cost that rarely makes headlines.

“But God showed up, fought for him and they ruled in our favor.”

Kelly says this is only a drop in the bucket. She knows what her husband and attorneys like him face every single day. But she also knows something else: "God is greater and is always faithful."

And in the middle of all of it, there is a voice she keeps returning to. An old preacher named Adrian Rogers, who is with Jesus now, whose sermons found her and have never let go.

"God has used Adrian Rogers in an incredible way in my life," she said, "and still is."

Love Worth Finding is keeping the voice of Adrian Rogers available and the name of Jesus not just prominent but preeminent, and Kelly is grateful, for the sermons, for the website, and for the decision to keep going even after Adrian Rogers went home to be with Jesus.

She just wanted us to know: “Please never stop putting his anointed material out there. …Thank you so much for all you do.”
