You Will Meet Jesus

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians 2:5-11

Ponder This

Look at this passage once more. Under the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, Paul summarized the mission, ministry, and final triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ. In these seven verses, God the Father affirms that Jesus is the supernatural, sinless, sovereign, sacrificial, surviving, saving, soon-coming Son of God.

This passage has it all: Christmas, Easter, the Second Coming, and His Kingship over all creation, rolled into one. The grave could not hold Him; He is Lord of both life and death. Every knee shall bow to a resurrected King.

His sandaled feet once stood on the Mount of Olives. One day those miracle feet, those pierced feet, are going to touch down again on that Mount of Olives, and the Bible says it’s going to split in two at His second coming.

Practice This

You have a date with deity. You’re going to meet Jesus Christ. He is inescapable, unavoidable, inevitable. Acts 4:12 says, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Have you received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?
