Clearly and plainly God says in His word, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Exodus 20:14). Adultery is a sin against one’s self. It’s a sin against one’s home. It’s a sin against one’s nation.
Edward Gibbon, who wrote The Decline And Fall Of The Roman Empire, said that the sin of immorality was the number one thing that brought that empire crashing down. Historians tell us adultery was the sin that also destroyed Greece, Egypt, and Babylon. I believe it may well be the sin that will destroy America.
Even now the raging waters of God’s wrath are pounding furiously against the dam of His mercy. One day that dam of mercy will give way to the waters of God’s wrath. The Bible says in Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” The enemy of the home is also the enemy of society.
"Love Worth Finding's newest book, "A Final Charge to the Church, "is based on the final series of messages Pastor Rogers preached before retiring in 2005. Pastor Rogers wanted to prepare his congregation for the future. In doing so, he provided a biblically sound blueprint that applies to all Christians on topics including unity among believers, standing strong in opposition to the enemy (Satan), the power of the Holy Spirit to change lives, steadfastness in prayer, true worship, faithfulness to God's Word, caring for others, and the kingdom authority given to believers in Jesus Christ. The book is a great read for all believers who want to become better prepared, as the bride of Christ, to be radiant, pure, and faithful to Jesus, the living Word of God.
