  1. INTRODUCTION 
    1. You don’t come to God head-first; you come to Him heart-first.
    2. Psalm 19 tells us three ways in which God speaks to us so that we can know Him personally and assuredly.
  2. THE CONVINCING WORD OF GOD IN THE HEAVENS  (Psalm 19:1-6)
    1. As you look up into the starry night sky and see the vast universe that God created, that alone is enough to confirm that God exists. 
      1. Psalm 14:1
    2. What do the heavens declare?
      1. The glory of God  (Psalm 19:1)
      2. The greatness of God  (Psalm 19:1)
      3. The goodness of God  (Psalm 19:2)
        1. It is God who daily loads us with benefits.
    3. Romans 1:19-20
  3. THE CONVERTING WORD OF GOD IN THE HAND  (Psalm 19:7-11)
    1. You cannot know God through creation alone; you can know about God, but you must have the Bible to truly know the heart and mind of God.
      1. The virtue of the Scriptures  (Psalm 19:7-9)
        1. 2 Timothy 3:16
        2. The Bible is the foundational Word.
        3. The Bible will never lead you astray.
        4. The Bible is pure; in it is no mixture of error.
        5. The Bible is incorruptible and indestructible; it abides forever.
      2. The value of the Scriptures  (Psalm 19:10-11)
        1. The Scriptures are precious.
        2. The Scriptures are protective.
        3. The Scriptures are profitable.
  4. THE CONVICTING WORD OF GOD IN THE HEART  (Psalm 19:12-14)
    1. We see objectively that God exists.  Then, we learn the truths of God from His Word.  The Holy Spirit of God must then make all of this real in our hearts.
      1. The convicting word of the Spirit  (Psalm 19:12)
        1. Jeremiah 17:9
        2. John 16:8
      2. The cleansing word of the Spirit  (Psalm 19:12)
        1. 1 John 1:9
      3. The control of the Spirit  (Psalm 19:13)
        1. There are two things we should always be aware of:
          1. The possibility of secret faults
          2. The danger of presumptuous sins
      4. The communion of the Spirit  (Psalm 19:14)
  5. CONCLUSION
    1. God desires that each of us come to know Him personally.
    2. To know God is to trust Him; to trust Him is to obey Him; and to obey Him is to be blessed.
