    3. God’s choices regarding the children of Abraham:
      1. Not all the children of Abraham were chosen.

        3. “Jacob have I loved; Esau have I hated.”
          1. “Hate” had a different meaning in Biblical times than it does today.
          2. “Hate” refers to preferring one over another.
      2. God’s choice was national and not personal.
