- THREE KEY WORDS: ASK, SEEK, KNOCK
- Ask—desire expressed
Why do we pray?- Not to impress God
- Not to inform God
- We pray to invite God
- Fellowship factor—fellowship with God
- Development factor—I grow, learn, abide, and receive strength when I pray
- Dependence factor
- The greatest tragedy is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer.
- Satan cannot keep God from answering, so he will try to keep you from
asking.
- Seek—direction explored
- Seek the purpose of God.
- Seek the presence of God.
- Seek the power of God.
- Knock—determination exerted
- Ask—desire expressed
- WAYS GOD ANSWERS PRAYER
- Direct answer
- Different answer
- Delayed answer
- God commends persistence.
- Denied answer
- WHEN DO YOU STOP ASKING?
- When you have what you asked for.
- When you have the answer in your heart (though not in your hand).
- When God says no.
- WHY DO WE HAVE THE ASSURANCE OF ANSWERED PRAYER?
- Because God is good.
- Because God is wise.
- Because God is able.
