Learning To Walk
November 15 | Taken from a message by Adrian Rogers
A birth is a commencement. No baby is ever born full-grown. When your God saves you, that doesn’t mean you’re going to sprout wings and get a halo.
I remember when one of our grandbabies was in our house, and I was down on my knees with him and he took his first step. Since, then he has not only learned to walk, but he’s done a whole lot more!
Now, he didn’t learn to walk in order to get into the family. He’s in the family. He was born into the family! He is all tomorrows and no yesterdays.
Thank God, that when He saves us, He buries all our sins in the grave of His forgetfulness. And the Bible says, “As far as the East is from West, so fareth He removed our transgressions from us.” I am glad he didn’t say the North to the South. You can measure the North Pole and the South Pole. The East to the West - that’s infinity.
Folks, that’s how far God hath removed our transgressions from us. But then, we have to learn how to walk, we have to learn how to talk. A birth is a commencement.
