Lost Without Jesus
February 7 | Taken from a message by Adrian Rogers
Sometimes when I am interviewed by a news organization, I get the impression that the interviewer is trying to put me in a hot box or make me say something I will regret.
The interviewer will eventually ask me, “Do you think a Jew without Jesus is lost?” If I said yes, then number one, I am viewed as a racist or a bigot. Isn’t that right? If I say, "No, I believe he’s saved," then I have absolutely dishonored the Lord Jesus Christ who died for the sins of all people.
Do you know what I have learned to say? “Friend, I believe that one of my own children without Jesus is lost. It doesn’t matter whether he’s a Jew or a Gentile."
You see, God demands absolute perfection and none of us can provide. Romans 3:23-26 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that He might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."
We need the gospel. We need the righteousness of God that comes by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
