When You Least Expect It
January 28 | Taken from a message by Adrian Rogers
I read about a man who stepped into a store to buy some things, then realized he did a very foolish thing. He left his car keys in the ignition. He also left his house keys on his car keys. When he came back out, his car was gone.
He was muttering to himself about human nature and how terrible things were. The next morning when he came out, there was his car sitting in the driveway with a note on it. The note said, “I was in a dire emergency. I’m very sorry. I needed the use of your car and here are two tickets for the Dallas Cowboys game.”
The man went back in the house and told his wife, “You won’t believe this! Our car is returned. It’s not hurt – not even a scratch. And look, we’ve got football tickets. I’ve always wanted to go to a Dallas Cowboys game!” They went to the game and when they came home their house had been cleaned out!
When you least expect it. That's when the Lord Jesus Christ is going to come – as a thief in the night. First Thessalonians 5:2 says, “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”
