God's Kingdom on Earth
December 7 | Taken from a message by Adrian Rogers
When you pray, “Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,” where are you praying that His will be done? “... on earth as it is in heaven” (emphasis added).
When you pray that way, you need to remember that your prayer may not get answered in this lifetime, but it will be answered. You see, “the kingdom of God” is the kingdom of God’s government. It is the kingdom of God’s grace. It is the kingdom of God’s goodness and it is the kingdom of God’s glory. God hears every prayer, and every prayer gets answered.
Let me tell you something: God is going to be glorified here upon this earth. He is going to rule here on earth. Jesus Christ is literally, actually, visibly, bodily coming back to this earth. Do you believe that?
Do you think that Jesus Christ would have taught us to pray this prayer if it would not have been answered? His kingdom has not come yet on earth. His will is not being done on earth. But it shall be. It will be because our Lord taught us to pray that.
